I was woken from my sleep by a weird but loud noise. Sort of grating and sinister. I lifted my head and shoulders and had to twist around to see what was behind me. I looked into the darkness and saw Mary looking a little worried as she walked and Ray harassing her nastily as he kept a slight distance behind. She did her usual but the strength in her words was not there. She told him he was hurting her and sounding distressed. Ray cackled evilly and did a silly clapping dance. I had to tell him off and called his name, Ray, but not at the top of my voice. I didn't want to disturb or attract the neighbours to this dreadful situation. Mary told him to stop it and stood to face and challenge him. But his face turned scary and he lunged at her. She yelped as she jumped backwards to get away but stumbled. I was shocked. I have to get out there and deal with him. What the hang was he doing? And why was Mary so scared of him? She never had been. Just then a saw a tall and black haired woman grabbing Ray by his clothes accidently twirling him at the same time. She wasn't as big as Mary and I thought she was now on a back foot. Ray was starting to calm down as was Mary. I decided I couldn't get there, anyway, because my bad hip wouldn't cope. It all stopped.
